At a time of upheaval and change in technology and how we interact and create art I have found myself drawn to how oil painting and the interplay of color, light, material, and texture can react and interact with the strong geometries of circles and grids to create my most recent abstract paintings. These works talk both to the unyielding geometries of modern society and to the need for the tactile, the messy, and the unplanned. Through their core juxtapositions, they create movement and color, compositions seemingly simple and deeply complex, that ask to be seen from both afar and up close.
