Ilina Todorova-Moreno
Art brings light into the disabling darkness caused by her stroke. Ilina Moreno is an amateur artist with an indomitable creative passion. By vocation, she is a Ph.D. Psychologist. who taught and practiced psychology for over 30 years, both in Europe and the U.S. After her massive stroke 10 years ago left her paralyzed, she returned with fierce passion to creating art she longed
doing all her life, experimenting with different mediums to best represent her new grotesque inner-world full of unique states and experiences as well as the colorful world outside her room in San Francisco.
She is currently finishing a manuscript for a book "Dancing with the Elephant within" which will be illustrated with her paintings and color drawings.
Ilina has exhibited her artwork at the de Young Museum Art Slam exhibit for disabled artists in 2013, and the Ability Expo in 2015.
She is a member of the SF Women Artist Alliance and exhibits her work regularly at their gallery.
