Catherine Herrera is a 2023-2024 Creative Corps 18th Street Arts Center Fellow for the creation of the Coastal Stories Map which orients California coastal history with BIPOC who have contributed to the enduring legacy of the state's ironic beach history and culture, and explores how California Native communities are employing indigenous science and stewardship principles to combat ocean eco-system threats and address climate change. In 2023, Catherine Herrera is an Unlock Her Potential Mentee for The Martins Beach Project, a program providing mentorship opportunities to BIPOC women. In 2023, nine images from Catherine's 'Landless Indian' series reflecting her family's California Native roots and process to recover their documentation were exhibited in the group show of contemporary Native American art: 'Landscapes of Survivance' at the Santa Clara University Dodd Gallery from September-October 2023. During the pandemic, Catherine started the Exquisite Flowers Collection, a shop of fine art prints, gifts and fun products featuring the world's vibrant and diverse botanical garden.
